Horus o Heru, Hor, Har en egipcio antiguo, es una de las deidades egipcias antiguas más significativas que cumplía muchas funciones, sobre todo como dios de la realeza y del cielo. Fue adorado al menos desde el Egipto prehistórico tardío hasta el Reino Ptolemaico y el Egipto romano. Los egiptólogos consideran a Horus como un dios distinto[5], que puede ser una manifestación diferente de una misma deidad de múltiples niveles en la que se destacan ciertos atributos o relaciones sincréticas, no necesariamente opuestos, sino complementarios, de acuerdo con la visión que tenían los antiguos egipcios de las múltiples facetas de la realidad[6].
La forma más antigua de Horus de la que se tiene constancia es la deidad tutelar de Nekhen, en el Alto Egipto, que es el primer dios nacional conocido, específicamente relacionado con el faraón gobernante que, con el tiempo, llegó a ser considerado como una manifestación de Horus en la vida y de Osiris en la muerte[5] La relación familiar más comúnmente encontrada describe a Horus como el hijo de Isis y Osiris, y desempeña un papel clave en el mito de Osiris como el heredero de Osiris y el rival de Set, el asesino y hermano de Osiris. En otra tradición, se considera a Hathor como su madre y a veces como su esposa[5].

Full day tour including the famous pyramids of Cheops, Kefren and Mykerinos (entrance to the interior of the pyramids not included), as well as the impressive Sphinx sculpted in rock, visit to the Papyrus Institute where we will show how the Papyri are handmade. Lunch included. Visit the Egyptian Museum with its ancient art and where the treasure of Tutankhamun’s tomb is kept. Also included is the Citadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque. We recommend an evening visit to the Khan Khan El Khal Ili Bazaar and the sound and light show at the pyramids of Giza. Accommodation
Disembarkation and visits. We will visit the Necropolis of Thebes with the Valley of the Kings (tombs of the main Pharaohs) as it is not allowed the explanation of the tombs that are visited inside them, our guide will give explanations on the outside (not including the tomb of Tutankhamun since all the treasures are the Museum of Egypt in Cairo). Visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari . Visit Medinet Habu . Later we will visit the Colossi of Memnon, two impressive statues of Amenophis II. After the visit, transfer to the airport to take a scheduled flight (air included) to CAIRO . Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure in the current capital of the country with a population of over 16 million inhabitants. Overnight stay.
