Renfe launches this Monday the AVLO between Madrid and Valencia, a new “low cost” service that has sold 100,000 tickets or, what is the same, just over 15% of the available supply until next December 11. The railway operator has managed to sell these tickets in just one month, since it began its commercialization on January 20, with a minimum price of seven euros.
AVLO will start with six daily services -three in each direction- between Madrid and Valencia, which means a total offer of 2,200 seats per day. Likewise, four of the six trains will stop at the Cuenca Fernando Zóbel and Requena-Utiel stations.
In the first phase, they will be externally painted 112 series trains (with a capacity of 365 seats each), which allows the visual identification of the Avlo product without applying a complete remodeling of the interior. Later, in a second phase, when Renfe incorporates the new 106 series trains manufactured by Talgo into its fleet, trains similar to those on the Madrid-Barcelona corridor will be incorporated, with a higher capacity of up to 438 passengers.
