Now it’s time to continue our journey through this magical world with Pokémon Sword and Shield, an installment that follows the unbreakable formula that has guaranteed the success of the series for two decades and that brings with it the eighth generation of these charismatic pocket monsters, one of the ones we’ve liked the most to date. However, and despite its numerous and obvious successes, it has fallen somewhat short of being the definitive game that many of us expected, which does not detract from the fact that it is still as recommendable and addictive a title as ever.
The structure and development of the story has not undergone major changes either, taking us through the new region of Galar to defeat its eight gym leaders and thus have a chance to fight against the great champion of the Pokémon League. Although the final stretch now has an interesting twist to give it a format similar to that of an elimination tournament (we are healed between battles and the opponents we must defeat will be different each time if we repeat it after completing the game), the truth is that it cannot be denied that the feeling that the whole adventure transmits is that of being in front of the same as always.
